Avinodi’s visit to the court of King Noach, in which he pleaded for them to repent of their iniquity, seems to have occurred at Shavuot. At this Shavuot even, Avinodi gave Noach a beautiful drash, that tied the giving of the ten commandments to the coming of the Messiah.
Yeshua “did show himself often unto them, and did break bread often, and blessed it, and gave it to them” (3 Nefi 12:1). He then ascended back to heaven at Shavuot, after presenting a special teaching to his Talmidim that contained many Shavuot themes.
The Stick of Joseph account of Yeshua’s immersion includes certain, specific details not found in the New Testament, and unknown at the time of Yosef ben Yosef. This is a profound testimony to the authenticity of the Stick of Joseph as an ancient Jewish document.
Just like the Stick of Judah, the time has come for a distinctly Jewish text of the Stick of Joseph to be understood in terms of Jewish language and modes of thought. The time has come to apply the rich tradition of Jewish hermeneutics to the Stick of Joseph.
